Travel Awards

The deadline to apply for Travel Awards has now passed.

Due to the overwhelming interest, we are unfortunately not able to accept further applications. Notifications are expected to be available by July 10, 2015. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.


About the Travel Awards

Travel Awards are available for Young Investigators (35 years of age or younger) and Developing Nations Investigators (as defined by the IASLC Membership Guidelines*). These awards will consist of complimentary registration to the conference, up to four (4) night’s accommodation, a fixed amount to cover travel expenses and free membership in the IASLC for one year. If you fulfill all criteria for both awards, you may apply for both; however, if selected, you will only be offered one award.

*Currently corresponds to the World Bank list of countries in the following income groups: low income, lower middle income and upper middle income, or those countries where GNI per capita is US$12,476 or less. List of countries is available at www.iaslc.org/countries

How to Apply for the Young Investigators or Developing Nations Investigators Travel Award

  1. The candidate must be the first author and presenter of the submitted abstract
  2. Abstract must be submitted on or before the submission deadline April 15, 2015 April 20, 2015 via the online abstract submission form
  3. Candidate must apply at the time of abstract submission and provide the outlined supporting materials via email to the Conference Secretariat at wclc2015-abstracts at icsevents.com

The deadline for submission of these documents is April 15, 2015 April 20, 2015. Application materials received after April 15, 2015 April 20, 2015 or applications received without supporting materials cannot be considered.

Applicant Eligibility

Eligibility for Young Investigator’s Award (35 years of age or younger) Eligibility for Developing Nation Award (as defined by the IASLC Membership Guidelines)
  • 35 years or younger at the time of the application
  • Submitter and presenter of an abstract accepted for presentation (use same/similar wording as for the Mentorship Awards)
  • Investigator from a Developing Nation*
  • Submitter and presenter of an abstract accepted for presentation (use same/similar wording as for the Mentorship Awards)

  • Statement by the senior member (who must be a member of the IASLC) of the candidate’s role in the research
